home | rescued

My hubby found these chairs in the alley behind our house...next to the dumpster.   After being rescued, we gave them some new hardware, sanded them down and selected a lovely chartreuse by Benjamin Moore.  We bought the paint a Lucas Paints in Northwest Denver.  A gentleman, whose name I shall not revel, said "I hope you are keeping these in the privacy of your backyard".  Ouch, not a fan of my color selection I guess.  What do you think?

home | cup holders

We needed some cup holders to attach to our fence.  Why?  Because when you're playing cornhole you may have to put your drink down.  I could not find anything I liked so I got creative.   So easy...especially when Geoff does all the labor.  :0)

Step One: buy old crates (thanks Etsy)
Step Two: cut them in half
Step Three: hang them up!

green tops

Many design firms have made sustainability a part of their mission with every project they touch.  I commend them for those efforts, and I am fascinated by the products they select.  However, the design feature that always captivates me is the simple, but divine appearance of a green rooftop.

sale!

Who doesn't love a good sale?  Well, unfortunately, this might be one I can't get to or afford,  but certainly worth mentioning.

Some Angela Adams rugs are 20 percent off while supplies last.  Contact (800) 255-9454 or www.angeladams.com

Branch, an online seller of eco-friendly home furnishings, is discounting some items while supplies last.  Contact: (877) 626-1012 or www.branchhome.com

According to Interior Design Magazine...

...these are the Top 10 of 2010.
I was pleased to find the Viceroy listed not only because it's gorgeous, but as they state, it is on track to be the first LEED Silver-certified hotel in the Colorado resort region.  Yippee!  (Yes, I just said yippee.)

thefuntheory.com

Have you seen this site?  It was introduced to me via IIDA's facebook page.

"This site is dedicated to the thought that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people’s behaviour for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it’s change for the better."

bright ideas

With the holidays right around the corner, I've been looking for some innovative gifts and if I can make them, even better.  ReadyMade has some great ideas, but I was distracted by the lighting projects.  Here are a couple I enjoyed:

lightbulb bud vase

knitted lamp
string theory

hello desirable office space

Australian architectural firm hassell has won the "best interiors and fit out award" at this year's World Architectural Festival.  The winning project, ANZ centre, is located in Melbourne, Australia.  The open office space is said to be an "urban campus"  for 6,500 people.  Wow...that's half the size of my home town.

cyber what?

Cyber Monday....huh, what?  I know, because I've polled my friends, there are several people who had never heard of "Cyber Monday".  Myself included.  Also knowing these gals, it was likely an excuse to do some shopping.  Myself included.  Here's a few things I found:

J.Crew Rugged Twill Weekender

Goldie Clutch

Small White Crocheted Bowl

Puppy's Guide to Love

I've moved...without all the mess.

After only five months of blogging it became obvious I needed a site that was easier to use...so, I've moved. ( old blog ) I'm pretty sure my faithful followers, all four of them, won't mind.

If I was really moving, I'd have plenty of boxes to use.  Crate and Barrel sure does know how to pack those fragile wedding gifts!  (More on that later...)  Anyway, all of this made me think about what a creative mind could do with all of this cardboard....besides recycling of course.
