What's behind that door?
I saw this photo on A CUP OF JO and I thought it was so sweet!
Would you rather see your groom before the ceremony or wait until you walked down the aisle? This bride and groom managed to take pre-ceremony photos without actually seeing each other: behind a door. Clever!

Missed Connections
So, you've all heard of missed connections right? No, no you have...from craigslist! Missed Connections is listed under the personals section on craigslist.org. Check it out. Once you've selected your city you can view the creepy, kinda sad post from folks like a hopeful lad who exchanged a five second eye lock with a dreamy lady at the local Starbuck's and that's all it took to decide he missed the opportunity to engaged in conversation with his future wife. Sure, the idea that these two get together and run off into the sunset is romantic, but...oh forget it, I'll save my cynical comments for another blog.
Okay so what does this have to do with the topics I typically blog about? Well, while attending NeoCon, I was introduced to the work of Sophie Blackall, an Australian illustrator residing in New York. I love that she has taken these "Missed Connections" and turned them into whimsical illustrations. I need to buy one.

You were wearing a green dress with white buttons. We made eye contact at least three times on the 6 train this morning. All of a sudden you gave a little smile, and looked down at your lap, as though at some secret joke. You never looked up again and I had to get off at Bleeker. I wish I could have seen inside your beautiful head.

Ack! 'Round 7pm or so... I was browsing the shelves and saw you on the other side. I swear I glimpsed our entire future together in that brief moment. It was beautiful. And then someone asked you for the time. I mean c'mon, who doesn't have a damn time-telling device of some sort these days!
Oh, if only I'd thought of that.

| Thursday, October 14, 2010 My dreamy neighbor who plays obscenely loud music - w4m - (Greenpoint) Sometimes when you have played music late into the night or come home in the wee hours and turn it on, I knock on our shared wall or scold you the next day, but all along I am thinking how dreamy you are and how I just want to make love to you. |

objects of my obesssion
I'm an obsessor. Is that even a word? No, but my friends know what I mean. It's pathetic. I get something in my head and I can't sleep, I want to fix it, buy it, etc. Currently I'm bouncing back and forth between fashion and interior design thanks to the great Denver weather and our new home. Here are somethings that I'm obsessing over right now.
6. Lastly, with summer here, I am back to obsessing over anything with sea salt caramel in it......or on top of it or anywhere in the description. Needless to say, I'm not picky about the usage. Yum!
1. Owls. Any Owl. In this case the ceramic owl from West Elm that I attempt to pet, squeeze, and dote over every time we're at West Elm. If this one doesn't do it for you, they have several others.
2. I'm totally feeling the fringe bags. While it's very "Olsen Twin-ish", I still want one.
3. Yes, the Barcelona Chair Knoll. My husband appreciates this signature piece by Mies van der Rohe but the price...not so much.
4. I also like these acrylic dining chair. Not too worry hubby, I'm not going to replace our dining chairs. I just need to find a spot for this nouveau guy.
5. Oh so perfect for our entry! The Sheep Credenza by doublebutter is just what we need. Thankfully this creative duo are our friends so I believe a discount can be arranged if we hand over some libations.

Logos
I saw this article entitled "What if corporate logos were honest?" on www.flavorwire.com. I just had to share.
"What if logos were honest? That’s the question posed by Viktor Hertz, a Swedish graphic design freelancer and student, in his fantastic series Honest Logos. “Some are cheap, some might be a bit funny, some will maybe be brilliant,” Hugo explains. :
